Vanishing Twin
In the latest episode of American Horror Story: Delicate, we are taken back to England in the year 1555. The story begins with the baby boy, who has supposedly waited over 6000 years to be born. Mary, promising the child in exchange for a successful reign, hands him over to a group of strange figures. As they vanish into thin air, Mary instructs Elizabeth to leave the scene.
Meanwhile, Dex makes excuses to Anna, who informs him that she had seen Mrs. Preecher in town. The next day, Dex agrees to accompany Anna to the doctor. However, as Anna makes her way upstairs, she is startled by a black cat. Curiosity piqued, she hears something coming from the basement just as she leaves the area.
Anna pays a visit to Siobhan and encounters the Ashleys, who turn out to be the same women present back in 1555. They are in attendance for a PR crisis meeting for Siobhan. The Ashleys suggest creating a reel to improve Siobhan’s image. Anna, noticing her hair falling out, becomes enraged and smashes a mirror. The doctor dismisses the hair loss as vanishing twin syndrome, leaving Anna and Dex questioning this explanation.
Meanwhile, Siobhan is having a secret affair with the director of Anna’s latest film. She reminds him to keep the inspiration for the film a secret. Eventually, Anna gives in and agrees to do a reel about female bodily autonomy as an attempt to improve her image.
At Talia’s house, Nicolette congratulates Anna on her pregnancy. However, Anna begins to experience trouble sleeping at night and decides to get a snack. While searching for food, she comes across a photo of Dex with his late wife, but in her imagination, she sees herself as Sonia. While in a confused state, Anna falls and hits her head. When she wakes up, she approaches the bassinette and places a dead animal in it.
